Help Pages: About Landings

NMFS requires permit holders to report recreational catch (landings and dead discards) of Atlantic bluefin tuna, as well as landings of swordfish and billfish (white and blue marlin, sailfish, and roundscale spearfish). A landing occurs any time these fish are brought back to shore. It is important for the management of the resource that the estimates of the amount of these fish be as accurate as possible. Failing to report your catch/landings is a punishable offense.

For convenience and efficiency, the Permit Shop has a special facility for reporting catch/landings. In the center of the home page, you will find the link "Fish Reporting". For instructions on how to report click on Reporting Landings.
